Job Description:

This position is classified as a hybrid role based (3) days a week from our office, or Downtown Chicago Office.

The successful candidate will create content for applications ranging from executive presentations and speeches to marketing and social-media copy, video scripts, change-management campaigns, intranet content, employee publications, news releases, briefing documents and more.

This role requires a mix of journalistic, corporate and creative storytelling skills, as well as a strong background in media relations.

Work You Will Do:

  1. Developing strategic internal and external communications content encompassing everything from town hall meetings, intranet articles, executive leader communications and presentations to speeches, advertising and sponsorship copies, social-media copy, press releases, video scripts and more. (40%)

  2. Developing story angles and drafting/pitching stories for targeted trade media that drive measurable reputational benefit. (50%)

  3. Leading communications for key companywide change-management projects and developing creative communications tactics to promote these efforts. (10%)

  4. Other activities as assigned (10%)

Job Requirements:

  1. BS/BA degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.

  2. 5-10 years of related experience.

  3. Experience managing and using a wide array of communications tools and channels.

  4. Experience developing and pitching compelling stories to trade-media outlets.

  5. Broad-based experience writing for a variety of executives and other leaders, with demonstrated ability to craft communications spanning a wide range of applications, audiences and executive voices.
